Policies & Guidelines
Scout Troop 260 operates in accordance with BSA policies, applicable laws, and best practices for Scouting and youth organizations.
Where BSA policies allow for Troop discretion or additional clarification, we have developed guidelines to explain our approach.
Covid-19 Policy
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Troop developed guidelines for safely continuing Scouting activities. The policy is retained here for reference.
Guidelines on Active Participation
Many ranks include a requirement to be “active in your Troop.” These guidelines explain how the Troop 260 Committee interprets and applies this requirement.
Two-Deep Email Communication
In accordance with Scouts BSA youth protection guidelines, 2deep@troop260.org should be copied on all email communications between adults and youth.
Use of Images & Recordings
Photos, videos, and other media featuring our Scouts and leaders may be shared through electronic platforms, including the Troop website and social media. We take the privacy and safety of our Scouts seriously and have established guidelines for how this media is captured and shared.
Our policy is based on relevant BSA policies and guidelines and includes three key principles:
#1: Any media captured must comply with Youth Protection Training (YPT) and the Guide to Safe Scouting at the time it is captured. Media that does not comply must be immediately deleted.
#2: Media may be shared and published through electronic platforms, such as the Troop website and social media.
#3: Names and other personally identifiable information of Scouts will not be directly associated with media that includes them.
